Itinerary

13 DAYS/11 NIGHTS ADVENTURE: SAIGON TO SIEM REAP
  
Day 1:  London - Saigon 

Fly from London to Saigon.


Day 2 : Saigon 

Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh City Airport, meet with your local guide who will escort you to the Caravelle Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Saigon
After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of essential sights before lunch at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Saigon, My Tho, Cai Be
After breakfast, you will  be transferred overland by coach to My Tho port to board Cruiseco Adventurer. Enjoy welcome drinks and lunch, then check in to your luxurious cabin. While cruising towards Cai Be, join the Captain‘s Cocktail party followed by a gourmet dinner and folk performances. Moor overnight midstream near Cai Be.

Day 5: Cai Be, Sa Dec
After breakfast, take a junk trip to the floating markets. Visit sights including the French Gothic Cathedral and rice paper manufacturers. Return to the ship for lunch while sailing towards Sa Dec, a quaint little city. Explore Sa Dec in the evening, including the Fujian Temple, local markets along the river banks, and pass the home of Marguerite Duras.  We then set sail for Tan Chau with evening cocktails and dinner.

Day 6: Tan Chau, Border Crossing
Discover Tan Chau, a small town untouched by tourism. We sightsee by local boats, through narrow channels to visit an evergreen island and floating fish farm. Afterwards, enjoy a local tour by rickshaw (xe loi). Board the ship and set sail for the Cambodian border, enjoying lunch, a Vientamese cooking demonstration by the executive chef, cocktails, dinner and a screening of the movie “The Killing Fields”.  Overnight we cruise to Phnom Penh.

Day 7: Phnom Penh
Enjoy plenty of sightseeing and activities in Phnom Penh, including visits to the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum. You may also choose to visit Khmer Rouge’s grim Toul Sleng (S21 Detention Centre) and the Killing Fields, providing an understanding of a crucial part of Cambodia’s history.  In the evening enjoy Khmer folk dancing before dinner. You may like to relax in one of many bars ashore just opposite the dock as the ship will stay overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 8: Chong Koh Village
Sail towards little known Chong Koh. After breakfast, we take a leisurely morning stroll through this silk-weaving village. Mid-morning we sail back along the Mekong, with a hearty lunch before cocktails, dinner and an onboard pianist in the evening. The ship overnights midstream.

Day 9: Oudong, Kampong Tralach*
After breakfast, set sail for Prek Kdam with an onboard lecture “Cambodia: The Past & Present”, before visiting Oudong, former Cambodian capital. Here we visit a Buddhist temple and attend a blessing ceremony, before a 45-minute bus trip to Kampong Tralach. Visit temples and take an ox-cart ride through the countryside and rice fields to the Tonle River. In the evening we cruise to Kampong Chhnang.

**As water levels on Tonle Lake vary it’s not always possible to cross if it’s too low and alternative itineraries may be followed 


Day 10 : **High Water   Kampong Chhnang
Kampong Chhnang is a rural port town with bustling markets. Mooring mid-stream, take a motorboat excursion into the lakeside wetlands at the mouth of the river. See a stunning variety of birds along with the intriguing local life in the floating village. Return to the boat and cast off towards Tonle Lake  while enjoyig farewell cocktails.The ship moors near Siem Reap.

Day 11:**High Water 
Enjoy breakfast onboard before bidding farewell to the crew and guides.Disembark in Siem Reap  and transfer by coach to Raffles grand Hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a tour of Angkor Wat, the worlds largest temple. Enjoy the sunset over Angkor Wat  before heading back to your hotel.

Day 10: **Low Water  Kampong Chhnang
Moring mid - stream, take a boat excursion into the lakeside wetlandsReturn to the boat for lunch . After lunch the ship sets off for Prek Kdam, the cruises final stop.Enjoy a farewell cocktail party this evening.The ship moors overnight in Prek Kdam.

Day 11:** Low water  Disembark Prek Kdam- Siem Reap 
Enjoy breakfast onboard disembark. Next, transfer by bus around the lake to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, check into Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor for the next two nights.

 

Day 12: Siem Reap
After breakfast, visit the magnificent Angkor Thom: the last capital of the Khmers, with its Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the Leper King, and the spectacular Bayon Temple. Enjoy lunch at Café D’Angkor Restaurant (Raffles Grand Hotel) before visiting Thommanon, Chau Say, Tevoda, Ta Keo and Ta Prohm temples.

Day 13: Siem Reap
After breakfast, be transferred to Siem Reap Airport for your flight to London

My Tho, the quiet capital city of Tien Giang province, is the traditional gateway to the delta, owing to its proximity to HCMC. The town itself is an important market town, and its quaint but busy waterfront is easily explored on foot.
